Sunday in Zhongshan Park, Shanghai (9) – Twin Lakes

Refreshing Scenery at Twin Lakes (the Mandarin in Duck Lake)

"In July of 1958, the relevant authorities approved the use of about 2700 desolate square meters of the former Changning Maternity Hospital for building a park. Since then, a big and a small man-made lake were built, and trees were planted along the lakes’ bank, thus forming the mandarin lake scenic area. There is a stone pavilion called the “Spring Pavilion” on the north bank of the lake. The green and transparent lake water reflects the flowers and the lush trees, which composes a beautiful scenery.”
